Computer

The private machine behind the thread: screen, browser, files.

Every Air runs on its own computer — a private machine with a browser, a file system, a shell, and whatever tools it installs to do your work. It is the reason Air can do things instead of only talking about them.

What is on it

  • Your files. Everything you send in Messages or by email lands in Air's inbox folder. Everything Air makes — drafts, exports, renders, research — is saved alongside. The disk persists between sessions; nothing is thrown away when a conversation ends.
  • A browser. Air opens links, reads pages, fills forms, and signs in to the services you have connected. It browses the way you would, from its own machine.
  • Tools and skills. Air installs what a task needs — image and video generation, document conversion, spreadsheets, code. Skills you add from the web app live here too.
  • Memory. Notes Air keeps about your preferences, projects, and people, so it stops asking the same questions.

Watching it work

Say "show me your screen" or open the Computer mini-app to see a live view of what Air is doing — the browser it has open, the file it is editing. You can also open the same view in the web app's Computer tab. It is your machine; you are always allowed to look.

Files

  • Ask for anything by name: "send me the shot list from Tuesday", "what's in the folder for the Nike pitch?"
  • Ask Air to organise: "put everything about the tour in one folder".
  • Export at any time: Air can zip a folder and hand it back in the thread or by email.

Connections

When you connect an app — a calendar, a drive, a store, a social account — the connection lives on Air's computer and nowhere else. Air uses it only from that machine, only for you. Disconnecting from the Connect mini-app or the web app revokes it immediately.

One person, one machine

Your Air's computer is not shared with any other user, and Air itself is never given other people's credentials or model keys. When Air needs to try something risky — running unfamiliar code, opening a suspicious attachment — it does it in a throwaway scratch environment first, so your real files are not at stake.

Sleeping and waking

The computer quiets down when you have not talked to Air for a while and wakes the moment you text. Your files and connections are exactly where you left them; the first reply after a long gap may take a few extra seconds.

Leaving

You can ask for a full export of everything on the machine, and you can ask for it to be deleted. Both are handled as real requests with confirmation, not buried settings. See FAQ: your data.
